Tanya Sealey

Parent Governor

Tanya is originally from North London and has lived in Lewisham since 1997. She studied Literature at the University of Kent in Canterbury and gained an MSc in ‘Management in the Voluntary Sector’ at City University. She has British/Canadian dual nationality, and spent a year in Vancouver, Canada.

Tanya has extensive experience working in the charity sector. She has developed programmes to support unpaid carers at both Hospice UK and Carers Trust and was previously Head of Programme Management on the Time to Change mental health anti-stigma campaign at Mind. In December 2023, Tanya started a new role as Programme Management Lead at Kinship, overseeing a new training programme for kinship carers and their families, funded by the Department for Education. Tanya is keen to share learning she has gained in her professional roles, as well as using her programme management skills, in her role as parent governor.  Tanya has one son who joined the secondary school at Prendergast Vale in 2022. On weekends, she supports her son’s football team at AFC Lewisham, which is also coached by her husband.
